Juando

Born in Venezuela, Juando moved to Miami in his teenage years. It was his cousin who introduced him to music production and from then on, he has never stopped. He openly admits that his sound has matured with him, slowly changing as the years go by while at the same time creating a trademark taste which he is proud off.

Away from music Juando loves downtime at the ocean and he’s into fashion in a very big way, but like a man after my own heart, he “can’t forget food either”.

Juando describes his production style somewhere between jazzy and deep house. He loves synths as much as he loves the piano and other analogue instruments, so he always tries to incorporate both into all his productions.

As a Miami resident, his ear is close to the ground when it comes to nightlife and, for those looking for decent music on their next night out, he states that Space is the place to be. At the moment he is currently seeking gigs or a residency in the area, however, he is very busy working on production ideas, which means he’s not searching too hard. One of the projects he is working on is an Ep full of summer tracks, with a more jazzy electronic soundtrack, which he hopes to release soon.

For inspiration, even though it’s a bit off his style, Swedish House Mafia have always inspired him throughout his music journey; sometimes musically and sometimes through different ways. He thinks seeing people that are successful for such a long time can be truly inspiring. Whilst also stating he “Can’t forget to mention Daft Punk in that same vein”.

In the Deep House scene he loves anything Felipe Gordon puts out, same with Laurence Guy, and not forgetting Harrison Bdp when he is looking for some even deeper sounds. Veering away from house music, Juando also gets a lot of inspiration listening to a lot of different music even while producing. Marcos Valle, Sade, Tyler the Creator, are just some artists he listens to.

At the moment Juandos current favourite labels come from the guys over at “Up The Stuss” and Artist Chris Stussy is doing some wonderful stuff.

We often ask about a producer’s first track – Juando replied “I think, like most people, we were all excited about the first track we made, probably thinking that it’s the best thing in the world. Funny enough, after going through some style changes over the years, my first track ever could maybe fit with my current stuff, if remastered, of course. By the way, that track is not available anywhere hahaha”.

Finally, we asked Juando about the track he is most proud of. With quite a philosophical reply he said that he is always most proud of the next track he works on. His idea is to get better and better with each track he makes. He produces with intention and already has an idea of how he wants something to sound, before even opening a new project.
